Neurofeedback on the ConfidentCalmKids Programme

On the ConfidentCalmKids programme, there are 10 NeurOptimal® Neurofeedback brain training session. The total during of the session, is about 1 hour. During this time, the child will be connected to the NeurOptimal® brain training system, by 5 sensors attached to the head. The child will be sitting on a comfortable seat watching a movie on a monitor, connected to the NeurOptimal® brain training system. The actual brain training part of the session will last for 33 minutes.

Respected institutions such as the U.S. FDA and the American Academy of Paediatrics have endorsed Neurofeedback. In it’s infancy, it was used very effectively with Epilepsy and then later with ADHD. Is a specialised and advanced form of Neurofeedback that gives information back to the child about their brainwave activity as it is occurring. The electricity generated by Central Nervous System (CNS) processing can be detected by sensors placed on the scalp and displayed on a monitor in real time. This is called the Electroencephalograph or EEG. With specially designed computer software, information about the performance and behaviour of the Brain and the CNS as a whole is then presented back to the child via auditory perception. The additional information enables the Brain to improve its information processing capacity, efficiency, resiliency, and learning such that long-term outcomes can be achieved.
